The CGSociety is proud to present 'Spectaular - The Challenge' (CG Challenge XVIII), 5 September 2005 - 6 December 2005. The Spectaular Challenge was sponsored by Boxx Technologies, ATI, NVIDIA, ART VPS, Softimage, Alias, Autodesk, Maxon, The Gnomon Workshop, Pixologic, E-on Software, Luxology, Corel and Ballistic Publishing.

This challenge strived to conceive and create an image that could potentially become part of future history. As one of those iconic, spectacular images that grasps viewers by the throat, quickens the pulse, excites and scares at the same time. What makes something Spectacular? That's a good question. It's also the key to fame and fortune if one can learn how to turn out truly spectacular images on demand. The reason is that spectacular images are some of the most widely sought after and most commercially valuable. It's part of the human nature to be entertained by the spectacular.

And now the time has come to announce the winners of CG Challenge XVIII: Spectacular - Congratulations!
